[SOLVED] 100 percent CPU consumption problem

Here's a list of improvements that have helped other people with this problem. You don't even have to try any of them. Simply work your way through the list before you find one that fits your needs.

Fix 1: Shut down any processes that are using a lot of CPU power.

Consider entering Task Manager to see which procedures are hogging too much CPU use when the PC gets slower than normal and the CPU usage is at 100 percent. Here's how you can do it:

1) To open Task Manager, click Ctrl, Shift, and Esc on your keyboard. Permission will be requested. To start Task Manager, select Yes.

2) To order the processes by CPU use, click the CPU column header. You can now see which processes are using your CPU.

3) To kill a process that uses a lot of your CPU, select it and then press End job.

Check to see if the CPU consumption is still at 100% after you've terminated all of the CPU-intensive processes. If not, then congrats! This problem has been fixed by you. If the problem continues, move on to the next step.

Fix 2: Make sure the drivers are up to date.

This problem can also be caused by obsolete or absent drivers. You can correct compatibility problems or bugs that trigger high CPU consumption by upgrading your drivers to the latest update.
